What is an intervention?
An intervention is when a substance abuser's behavior
is disrupted through the help of loving family members
and a trained specialist.
Under what circumstances do interventions take place?
Often times the drug addict or alcoholic in your
life will not feel as though their use is a problem.
Even if they are hurting themselves and other people
their addiction has taken over their life and stunted
their ability to make rational decisions. Interventions
take place when the situations are getting worse, however
if you have a situation in which someone is physically
hurtful or threatening you may need to seek emergency
assistance before looking to intervention.
Crisis and drug interventions can occur within the new
client's house or if the client is a minor, it can also
occur at the treatment center itself. Our specialists
understand that the whole family needs to be involved
with an intervention and that while there is one person
causing problems in the family the other members need
to be willing to look at themselves.
Do interventions really work?
Interventions in conjunction with longer-term treatment
and recovery care centers provide the stable foundation
needed to succeed in life without drugs or alcohol.
If your loved one's problem is not alcohol or drug related
but has a problem with depression, eating disorders,
grief, emotional instability, etc, there is also success
in these areas when a effective treatment program is
used to follow the intervention. Interventions are just
the first step in the journey back to health and stability
and are absolutely necessary when a person is unwilling
to seek help for his/herself.
Where is Lifeline Interventions located?
Lifeline Interventions makes house calls around the
country, so our location relative to you is unimportant.
We will come to where you are. Many times successful
interventions take place within the home or at a location
in which the person in crisis feels comfortable. We
feel coming to you, especially when your loved one is
unwilling to seek help, is vital to their comfort level,
willingness and safety. In this way, the person receiving
help does not have to deal with unfamiliar surroundings
and can focus on what the interventionist is saying.
Wherever you are located we will come with our toolbox
of crisis and drug intervention resources and provide
the best possible service, the service you deserve.
